So i'm currently waiting for my spring terms grades (which come out at end of this week, which probably means my grades would be received by AADSAS end of June). On the AADSAS application, it says that it takes 4-6 week for them to process your GPA once they receive your transcript. Does this mean my application won't be sent out until August?! To me that seems really late.... am I just freaking out over nothing?

they normally get them done in 2-3 weeks (I've even seen less). Don't worry about the 4-6 weeks.

If you haven't already, I would just send my transcripts now, and update with grades later. I believe they will go ahead and calculate your GPA with what they get. Regardless, they say 4-6 weeks just to cover their asses, and as I'm sure you're aware, it's the same for everyone applying, so it's not like you're being disadvantaged in particular. You might also consider that most schools won't start doing anything meaningful (invitations, etc) with applications until August anyway.

Don't fret, just get everything done and let them do their thing.

If that is true, we would be better off not having this whole ADASAS thing, i am paying them a 1000 bucks and it takes them 4 weeks to confirm my grades? BS. I can send my transcripts to 10 schools in 1 day and it will cost me less.
This whole thing is not for OUR comfort, it is all about the money. it has always been.

It's for the convenience of the dental schools. It would be a serious mess getting thousands of apps, scores, letters, and transcripts sorted out and matched up. I imagine they would toss people out much more easily if they had to deal with that. At least this way they can see an organized applicant pool and sort and filter applicants as they wish.

Edit: But I do agree it seems a little sloppy for the price, but it's all we have. The real annoyance is just paying a school another processing fee...no secondary or anything...just a fee.

Not a dentist yet and they already want your money like there is no tomorrow.

Well the workers at AADSAS needs to get paid, and the secretaries and admissions committee at the school needs to get paid. Everyone has bills to pay.
