How are GPA trends calculated if undergrad took more than four years and there's a gap? My first go at college I went for a year and a half before getting a job relevant to my major. After a few years I decided to go back to school, but major in something else. None of my credits applied toward graduation for my new major, so it took me four years after returning to school to graduate. In total, it took me five and a half years of school to graduate with a multiple-year break between my third and fourth semesters. How would my GPA for each year be noted? Will my sophomore GPA be comprised of two semesters that are half a decade apart? Will my last three years just be considered my senior GPA?

The guide says to put community college classes as FR or SO if taken before attending university. I initially went to university. When I returned to school, I took three semesters at a community college. Should I put those semesters under SO or follow the semester hour guide?

If you did not go to community college before attending the university, then that instruction does not apply to you.
The first 35 semester hours (or so) are freshman year.
Then you started sophomore year.... the next 35 hours which will be a blend of university and community college foryou, OP, go there.
Then the next 35 hours (some or all of which were community college) will be junior year and anything after that but before graduation is lumped into senior year.
