GPA calculation question concerning A+

So my university does not offer A+ grades and has a gpa scale up to a 4.0. I ended up taking both orgo 1 and 2 and labs over a summer when I was away from school at a different accredited 4 year university that offered A+ grades and got that in orgo 1 lab, orgo 2 lab, and orgo 2 lecture.

Even though the university that I attend doesn't have that grading scale, will AADSAS still count that as a 4.33 during my application process? Or how does that all work?

AADSAS will calculate on their own scale so the A+ will be the 4.33. I wish my school gave A+!! That would bump up my GPA to just about a 4.0 and probably a 4.0 after this semester with 2 classes that would have gotten a A+ having gotten over 100% in those classes. Heck, some schools give an A+ for anything over 95%. If I was there, I would have over a 4.0.

I believe AADSAS will give you the 4.33 on their +/- calculation.

The AADSAS calculator shows your GPA both with +/- and without +/- grades. It's likely up to the individual dental school which GPA they consider. Here's a link with more details.

Is this only for those schools that use a +/- system? For example if my institution does not use them, will the ADEA only list my gpa without the +/-?

It doesn't matter what the institution uses. It calculates your GPA from all the grades you've ever gotten first counting any +/- grades and then ignoring any +/- grades.

Sorry, this may be a stupid question and I believe I already know the answer. But what I meant is, I have only taken courses at this one institution. It is on a full point scale. So is there a way for them to find out that I made a 97 and make it an A+ themselves, or do they only factor in the +/- grades when that was how the institution you received the grade from labeled it?

I've never received a +/- grade in my life, so I don't see how it would be possible for them to do that.

No problem, I see what you mean. They only factor in the +/- grades if the institution labeled it that way.
So if an institution gave you: A+, B-, A, B
One calculation (with +/-) would assign points 4.33, 2.667, 4, 3
The other calculation (without +/-) would assign 4, 3, 4, 3
If +/- grades were never assigned at your institution, both calculations would have the same GPA and use the A/B/C/D --> 4/3/2/1 scale.
