I know the amcas wants all your grades, and both grades when you have repeated the course. But my university put a 'R' on the transcript for teh first grade if you retake it. How do I go about entering that into amcas.

You have to enter the actual grade you received, unfortunately.

how would they verify that i put the right grade in since there will no longer be an official record of that grade?

That's a good point. I would still make sure your registrar really has NO documentation of the grade before you tried to pull any grade magic. I'd be surprised if they really don't have the grade anywhere.

i'm not trying to lie about the grades. i made some mistakes early during my ug and got a couple of c's and d's. I've since re-taken them and gotten a's or a-'s. But rather than lie about the grades I would rather not include the original ones. but since they ask for it, i wanted to find out how they would verify these grades becuase it seems useless for them to ask for them if they cant check in the first place.

I'd put the real grade to be on the safe side. As long as you've shown an upward trend in your grades and good MCAT score, I think you'll be fine provided everything else is ok.

yeah i'll prolly just do that. but those fcukers dont let anything go do they...they want your fcuking grades that they cant even verify. its pretty irritating

On the bright side, if you got a strong upward trend may overlook those two or so bad grades.

yeah i see what you're saying...hopefully they'll look at it your way. i'm just trying to get in somewhere...for the longest time i used to be the type of person to do the bare minimum required...then last summer i kinda came to a realization and since then i'm doing really well. but like i said, they dont let anything go so you never know that they might disqualify me for that.
