My freshman year of undergrad was very rough. I had some serious family issues and I was not focusing on school. I transferred to a school close to home for the rest of undergrad. I am wondering about how admissions look at the gpa.
My undergrad work at the second school gave me a gpa of 3.3. I added in the classes from my freshman year and that turned out to be 3.08. I also took an EMT Basic course at a tech college and if I added that in, I'd have a 3.13.
Do the combine all of this and make one final gpa? I have been working on my application to DO schools, but I'm not sure if I should go through with this. I have quite a bit of patient contact hours from being an EMT, I also have leadership, volunteering, and research experience. I am scheduled to take the MCAT in a couple of weeks. Please give me an honest opinion. I'm just feeling like I'm wasting my time.
