😡 I royally screwed up by listening to a counselor at the college I'm currently attending. I feel like such an idiot now that I have been around long enough to know that the pre-proffessional advisors are located in another department and the regular counselors don't know jack about getting into pharmacy school.

I had some family issues going on one semester (my mother was sick) and I decided that I needed to drop a super time-consuming class - Calculus. I was told by a counselor that "University's *hate* to see a lot of drops" so I shouldn't drop it, but get a D or F and then re-take the class to replace the grade. The "lot of drops" she was referring to was three dropped classes I had one semester 9 years ago when I dropped out. I have now been back over a year, full time, with good grades and no drops.

I have now found out from the school I'm hoping to go to that they will average the two attempts instead of calculating my GPA the way my current school does. This drops my current GPA of 3.6 to a 3.2! I was planning to apply before this semester is over, so what I make this semester won't help. Am I just screwed here, or will I have an opportunity to explain this??

😡 😡 😡

Each school is different in regards to how they handle this situation. Just apply to some more schools, there's nothing you can do about it now.
