Hello,

I was wondering, how does my GPA Work out?

I did rather poor in both 9th and 10th grade, around the D, F, C area....

However... in 11th, and 12th, I fixed that and got up to all As.
I still need to complete some preresquites for Pharmacy School.

However, when I apply, will they look at my High School GPA, or College GPA?
I just plan on getting my needed preresquites at my local college, and then applying, whilst getting some experience as a tech.

I really want to go to Pharmacy School, Pharmaceuticals has always been my passion.

Can I look into Academic Forgiveness?

Pharmacy schools don't look at your high school GPA. Colleges or Universities will. To get into an undergraduate program, your GPA will be considered. Pharmacy is a graduate/professional program, and Graduate schools consider your undergraduate GPA in college, your high school GPA is not a factor.

Most Pharmacy Schools require that you complete your pre-requisites at an undergraduate institution. Although, some may count AP credit, I'm not sure which schools do.

Your high school GPA will be a factor for accelerated or combined undergrad.+pharmacy programs, such as 0+6, 2+3, 3+3. etc., but you need to maintain satisfactory college GPA to advance to Pharmacy school.

However, in your case, they will look at your college GPA, not your high school's so don't worry.

Also, Pharmaceutical Science is different from Pharmacy, which is a practice, so you might want to look into that.

Thank you for the post!

I will be around pills, so I will be happy. Lol.

Hello,

I still need to complete some preresquites for Pharmacy School.

This makes me think that maybe you took some college courses in hs. I just wanted to point it out so you know if you did. If you took courses through a college (such as dual enrollment) during high school, those grades will count in your college GPA.

In any case, keep your GPA high, esp. your math/sciences, make sure you complete the pre-req's well, and keep in mind that different pharmacy schools may require different/additional pre-req's. Also, keep getting that pharmacy experience. good luck

I had only 2 bad grades which was in my sophomore year of high school. It was D's in Biology and integrated math....👎

then my grades went up like i had a 3.0 gpa in junior and then a 3.5 gpa in first semester of senior and then graduated early and went to brazil...🙂

Why would the pharmacy school care what grades you got in high school? they only care about what you did independently in college or university....

Once you start college, no one cares about what you did in high school anymore.
