I am wondering what other pre-meds GPAs are, if you don't mind sharing. Also, have people gotten a "C", and if so, in which class? Thanks for the info!

3.94 cum, 3.86 BCPM. No C's. (not AMCAS verified yet). Bachelors in Computer Engineering. Also, I don't see a poll?

I can't be the only one here with a 4.0... 😴

I'm here, I'm here! I was just waiting for someone else to put 4.0.

4.0 Cum, Science

You're methods of polling are flawed. There is no difference between >3.0 and any option higher than that. For example, a 4.0 can be classified by all options higher than >3.0 according to your poll.

3.98 Cumulative
4.0 Science

Econ degree. Business Law is what did it for me, but it was one of my favorite classes. A lot more interesting than Physics and Gen Chem imo.

Edit: University of Florida

Oh my god, all of your GPAs are sick. Wow, they are awesome.

Congrats to all of you; no doubt you worked your ass off and will continue to be successful in med school. Good luck with your applications, not that you need it, haha. I'll need a double dose of that myself, though. My goodness.

BCPM 4.0
CUmm 3.94

i got 1 B+ darn that "b"
😴

BMCP: 3.66, Overall: 3.87
One C, Orgo II, lots of regrets in that semester.

I used to think my stats weren't half bad, but I'm starting to notice the people on SDN are pretty on top of things.... You guys are making me really nervous!

Unfortunately GPA is pretty (but not wholly) dependent on the school you go to and what major you took, which is why the MCAT is there. Plus SDN is not representative. So no one get discouraged by the gpas now!

EDIT: Mine: ~3.5/3.6 both

What? Only 7 people so far with GPA's between 3.5 and 3.6? Wow. I'm hoping the upward trend thing will count for something.

For me, my GPA is 3.56, which is actually .01 higher than what it says on my official transcript. No grade lower than a B. I feel really inadequate with all these people with high GPA's.

This poll is depressing.

I wouldn't be worried. The impression I get is that schools prefer to see a certain GPA, but if it's above that threshold then they start looking at other stuff. I'm certainly not banking on my GPA alone getting me in anywhere.

My GPA identical twin! I'm Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Academy though.

Does a downward trend look bad?

My first three semesters I had a pure-A streak...then it went dooowwwnnn lol

I got two Cs. 🙁

But still made it. 🙂

i went down too... but i had a family illness which was preceded by family drama.. as of this summer im back up to straight As... i totally ruined my GPA and then decided to take time off from school. i should have done that earlier but i thought i could handle it 🙁 im a 3.4+ person.. will be a 3.5+ after summer 🙁

if only i could send official transcripts to the schools with my new grades before mid-September... 🙁

Only two C's and you went to MIT? You must be a genius like DR. EUGENIC... 😴

Yeah. That must be it.

This poll reeks of self-selection.

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure there are plenty of people with GPAs < 3.8.

BCPM 3.5 exactly CUM 3.6 exactly

The sad part is... It took a whole lotta work to get it even that high.

2 C's in biostats and bio I

3.75 cumulative, 3.83 science. 1 C, 2 "F"s

Not possible unless you are counting re-takes or took ~160 units and had 4.0 in all the others.

Cool! 👍 Good luck with your applications! I looked at your MDapplicants profile and it sucks to hear about UF and biochem. I didn't even know about that til my last semester and I was a student at UF! I had to scramble to get it into my last semester.

3.22 cum.

like 5 C's (orgo, diff eqns, circuits and signals, cell bio, inorganic). did BME.

kicked MCAT ass tho, got my name on a few papers, did some postbac, and i'm in.

you can overcome a crap GPA if you are willing to put in the time.

377.5 QP over 101 attempted credits for cumulative.

which (oops) comes out to a 3.738 (or rounded up to a 3.74).

161 QP over 42 attempted credits for BCPM(B in Cal A and Orgo 2).

which comes out to a 3.83.

for background, the C was in a single-credit(computer ethics) course and the two "F"s were in a 3-credit(part I of history sequence) and 1-credit(a BS "university life" course) course, neither of which where BCPM courses. None of the "F"s(NCs on my transcript) were retaken.

So by the math, it is possible.

3.5 science, 3.6 overall, two C's and 3 F's. see, now don't you feel better about your grades? 🙂
