GPA question & prereq question

1st year cGPA 3.65 sGPA 3.45, for MD or DO is this acceptable? I haven't taken any of the chemistry or physics classes yet... what range would be best to try to fit in to?

And all the schools i've been looking at do not list calculus as a prereq, does this mean I don't have to take it or is it *strongly preferred*?

That's an alright GPA for both MD and DO.
3.6+ cumulative is preferable for mid-tier schools.
Most mid-tier schools require a math class or two higher than college algebra.

Bachelors in Biology requires Calculus at my school.

The pdf is 3-4 years old, but it should give you some idea as to what MD schools want. If you can fit it into your schedule, you should take it. That way, if you decide to apply to some reach schools, you won't be impeded by something as silly as not meeting a math class requirement.

The best GPA to go for is the highest one you can attain. Study your *ss off for chemistry, organic chemistry and physics and then re-assess from there. Shoot for the stars but expect nothing.

Personally, I'd suck it up and take at least one semester of Calculus. What happens when application season comes around and a few of the schools you're absolutely in love with either require or 'strongly recommend' it and you don't get a secondary or interview invite due to that?
