Hi there,

I'm a college freshman and looking to apply to dental school later on. My school (university of toronto) places a limit on the number of first-year courses that count toward your cGPA. Only 12 first-year courses will count.

I've already taken 12 but still have to complete the physics pre-requisite for dental school, which is another 2 courses. I am technically allowed to take the course-- it just won't be calculated into the gpa given by my university. Would this be an issue when I'm applying to US dental schools? And will these physics courses be calculated in my DENTAL SCHOOL GPA? They will still see the mark I get in the physics courses on my transcript.

What your school does to calculate GPA is irrelevant (and really weird)

The application system you use to apply for dental school will have its own calculation for your GPA once you send in your transcripts. That's the one all the dental schools you apply to will see, not the school's.
