Do optometry schools only look at the GPA that you yourself calculate on the application or do they look at both calculated GPA and your actual GPA? My actual GPA is higher than the calculated one so it would help!

Thanks for the help 🙂

Hey,

They probably look at both. The gpa you calculated includes the core science courses which are most applicable to optometry. But they will also look at your transcript to see how you've done overall in college and if you're progression.

Here's your answer - they'll probably look at both, but then they'll look at your OAT scores, much more important - stupid isn't it. But thats how they know the diff between a community college 4.0 and an Ivy leage 3.0. Exude confidence in your interview, but don't come across as being cocky. Good Luck!
