I am curious, if earning AS after earning a BS has an bearing on low bs gpa. I had a 2.8 gpa with the BS, after graduating I recieved a AS in vascular technology where I had a 3.75 gpa, and had only 1 science grade lower than an A, it was a B+. I still need to take chemistry classes and mcat's, right now I am trying to figure out if i would stand a chance getting into medical school.

Yeah, it will be combined to one GPA. You need to do the math to figure that GPA out and see where you stand. You still stand a chance.

How many credits did you take in vascular technology? If a lot, then it will raise your 2.8 GPA a good bunch. Still, you may have to take more courses to raise that GPA and do well on the MCATs.

Also, how long was your transition from BS student to a Vascular Technology student? Was it 1 year, 2 years, etc? Osteopathic schools tend to be more forgiving for the non-traditional student than allopathic schools so they may weigh the BS less.

I was out of school 1 year, before I went back for vascular technology. Also, with the BS I earned, I went to school from 95-98 with out graduating, this is where low grades I have are from, I didnt go back to school, I went into the army. After my tour was over, I back to the same college where I earned all the bad grades, my GPA would have been higher had I not gone back to the same school.
