Hey I had a question regarding my first semester's GPA.

Here is the class / Grade / Credits:
Class 1 / A- / 4
Class 2 / A / 4
Class 3 / A / 3
Class 4 / A / 3
Class 5 / B- / 3

That would give me a GPA of 3.7 right?

What I don't get is how they get that number.
Because on my schools website it says I got 62.69 grade points.
How do they get that?
(I know the 3.7 (3.688) comes from that divided by 17)

ok.. it's rly easy to calculate your gpa.

here's what u have to do:

1- multiply each letter grade points to the amount of credits for each class:
ex.
Class 1 / A- (3.67) / 4 --> (3.67)(4) = 14.68
Class 2 / A (4) / 4 --> (4)(4) = 16
Class 3 / A (4) / 3 --> (4)(3) = 12
Class 4 / A (4) / 3 --> (4)(3) = 12
Class 5 / B- (2.67) / 3 --> (2.67)(3) = 8.01

2- once you do that, add up all the grade points = 62.69

3- then just divide that by the total amount of credits (17) = 3.688

hope i helped =]

I've never watched Avatar Air bender, but I really want to watch that movie coming out. The previews was awesome!

The above person's is correct. There are also various GPA calculators including one included w/ the med school selection spreadsheet (if you can find a way of getting a hold of it....)

Also, just a note: GPAs are generally never rounded up. So a 3.688 is a 3.68 not a 3.7.

That comes out to a 3.69....🙂
