Hey everyone,
I am applying this cycle and I have just found out that my school counts GPA quite differently than the way AACOMAS does it. We basically just go A=4.0, B+=3.5, B=3.0 and so on. This matches strongly with the half step grades that AACOMAS has which is A=4.0, AB=3.5 B=3.0 and so on.
However, my school does not call it AB, they just call it a B+ which AACOMAS lists as a 3.3. This puts me at a great disadvantage because according to AACOMAS my scale will go from an A = 4.0 to B+ = 3.3. There is no A- or AB.

So I called AACOMAS and they told me that I can just put in my B+ as ABs when I am entering the grades but they didn't really sound convinced and they said they will take a longer time to verify if it is incorrect. So I just wanted to ask if any one of you have done that and it has been okay with the AACOMAS. My GPA is already low and if I use this scale, it drops even more.
 
If your schools does not have an A- then a B+ would be a 3.5. If that is the case, I would enter your B+ grades as AB. I'd rather have a few extra days to verify my primary than a drop in GPA.
 
Gosh I hate reading this. A B+ is a 3.33
 
@JB50 would it be a 3.3 even if my school has no A minuses? Because I am considering putting in the B+s as AB since they have an equal numerical point value.

I was saying more my school has a less beneficial scale.
 
Some schools do not have - grades, only + grades. A B+ at that school would be equivalent to a 3.5.

Ya I don't get why grading systems aren't standardized. My 3.5 could actually be a 3.75. That's a big ass jump.
