I got a D in O-Chem II and then later re-took it and got a B.

When med schools calculate GPA do they count both grades individually or average them out to a C and calculate it that way?

Thanks!

I think they combine them.

Keep in mind that it largely depends on your undergrad school or university. Some schools will completely replace the D with a B and the lower grade will not even come up on your transcript. Other schools may take the average of both grades and that will be the one shown on the transcript. Different schools have different policies

I took that class at community college -_-

They have both grades listed on my transcript, but only counted the B in my overall GPA. So do med school adopt the same policy as whatever school the course was taken at? Or do they have their own system?

he will have to put all his grades on the medical school application, every last grade he got in college. idk but i think if you dont include all your grades you wont get a secondary or something.. not sure. BTW only DO schools have grade replacement.
