Hey Guys,
I thought I'd start a thread about GPR/ AEGD interviews/ acceptances for 2010. I've applied to 12 so far I've been invited to GPR in Houstan and AEGD in Virginia at VCU.

What about anyone else....

UAB GPR sent out some interview invites. About 6 different dates for out of towners in Nov, Dec, and first of Jan.
 
hey hi i have alos applied in 7 universities but i m a foreign trained dentist. can u pls help as to which universities to apply. so far i have applied in rochester, florida, connecticut,...... pls help me

Seems like youn applied to different locations and program types. Programs often delay invites until their deadline and then slowly invite people as they review applications. We have not started the process yet.

With your Dean at Vegas (a former UofLouisville student) you program should be good. You may want to check to be sure all your info was received. Occassionally info is lost.

As I read this thread, it is often harder for International students due to GME funding. Those have to check each program.

If I can be of any help, let me know.

Ive heard from UAB, Mississippi, VA Dallas, VA Houston. (all GPRs)

Has anyone heard anything from San Antonio (GPR)?
 
I applied to cali gprs, i was wondering if anyone has heard anything or when do they start the interviews??
 
Houston, VCU, VA DALLAS, UCSF, USC...hopefully a few more will come!
 
GPR interview offers at Indianapolis VA, Meriter Hospital in Madison WI, University of Louisville, University of Michigan, Carolina Medical Center, U of North Carolina, University of Colorado, Swedish Medical Center Seattle

Hello, I am currently a third yr... I was wondering what kind of GPAs or board scores do I need to apply for GPRs... I want to some day practice in NY but dont really know too much about what I should be currently doing to try to get into programs... Should I be doing research? How competitive are the programs and what should I be looking for in them??

Meriter (Madison WI)
Minneapolis VAMC (Minnesota)
Faxton St. Lukes (Utica NY)

Berkshire Med (Pittsfield MA)

Heard from MCG GPR yesterday by phone -- offered interview dates Nov 9, 13, Dec 4.
 
I would search for all the GPR threads regarding to UCSF. What those people said are standing true. Be careful about what you are trying to get into.

I heard back from VA Washington, D.C. yesterday via email... interviewing the week of Nov. 16th.

Heard from University of Washington and VA Puget Sound (Seattle) for interviews.

you heard from them? got an interview? congrats.

I called them 2 days ago and they said they were still going through applications.

SMC in seattle said they had a large number of applicants this year.

Didn't like University of Washingtons "quirk" on rotating patients.

I've heard back from UoP Stockton and Union City AEGDs as well as the Davis AEGD. All are in California.
 
I had my interview at Jacobi in the Bronx for my GPR. Learned a lot about program. Wasn't too impressed though. Facilities were like crap, granted the PD said will move in to new one. Talked to residents and many seem not very happy. Heard a lot of rumors that this program makes GPRs do all the scut work for OMFS.

Anyone else have any opinions or interviewed there?

I'm waiting on Hawaii as well. I've started hearing from a couple in California now and the one in Puerto Rico (all Lutheran MC)

Congratulations on your interviews. I have a friend of mine interviewed at Rochester and she didnt like it at all. How do you find UConn?
 
Accepted an offer today to the Indianapolis VA hospital!

I am at a canadian dental school and I was wondering if anyone knew of GPR programs that are at Children's hospitals in the states or have a high focus in pedo??

I've applied to 9 GPR programs and have interviews at 5 with a possible 6th.
 
Got interviews from Ceder Sinai, Ca. Kingsbrook MC, NY. Lutherin MC, NY, St. Luke's, NY, St. Francis, CT. VA Wilke Barre, PA. Has anyone heard anything about these programs. Anything would be appreciated.
