Hi everyone, i am a sophomore right now and I got a C- in calc, how bad does a C- look?? i'm so worried, does anyone have grades below C?

i would say check with the schools you wish to apply to but c-'s are only usually bad if they are in the prereqs so you should be fine

u can always retake the class ... but some schools don't really care that you took the time to retake it and did better the second time around...they expect having taken the same test twice you would do better the second time around...

I dont think one single bad grade is going to kill your chances. There are several people who get in with a few bad grades in certain classes. Mistakes happen, especially in college where some classes may only have 3 tests that make up the whole grade.

I got a C- in O-chem, retook it and got a C+. It certainly brings down a GPA fast, but I still have a couple of interviews. If you do plan on retaking the course, I would suggest you do everything you can to bring that up to an A. My repeat c+ is the one grade that makes me nervous every time I think about my chances.

Since many dental schools don't require calculus, I don't think a C will look that bad.

thanks guys, calc at michigan is insanely hard. i'm not going to retake it cuz i am DONE with calc

Yeah, I'm at Michigan too, and apparently, Calc 1 is the most dropped class and Calc 2 is the most failed class. Why is Michigan math so hard?

what about C in Organic Chem Lab ????

I mean what if B in Organic Chem but C in organic Lab ???? Does it look bad ? please advise!!!!

i got 2 D's....both in prereqs...retook and got A's. mistakes happen, it builds character...lol. i was never asked about the grades in my interview. no sweat..

Michigan math isnt so hard Michigan students cant do math would be a fairer statement.

It all depends on the total application. Dont get hung up on one grade in undergrad, it just dosent matter that much. Make sure you kick it up a notch in the rest of your classes though. When I applied I had a buddy who had two D's and he got into three schools.
