Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knows about how grade changes on a transcript work with the AMCAS application. Basically, my original grade in a course was changed because it was calculated incorrectly, and now when I check my unofficial transcript on my school's website, both grades are there. But there isn't anything about which is old or new or anything. All it says is [Course Name] A/A-. So I was wondering, how will this be handled on the application and is it possible that after I submit my application that they'll send it back for corrections and either list the lower grade or list both grades in the GPA? (I'm worried about this because it actually happened twice to me and the second pair of grades in a different class were much lower). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What's it say on the back of your transcript? Often there's a key on the back that explains the notation. Hopefully it will tell AMCAS that your "real" (and only real) grade is an A.

You should be prepared to explain and document your real grade to AMCAS in the verification process. Maybe you can get a letter from the registrar that explains why you have two grades for one class in a single term.

Correspond with AMCAS as soon as you submit your application. The verification process might take longer for you, so try to get it in early.

Why can't your professors do arithmetic?

Check your official transcript before doing anything. If same thing is there, I would start checking with AMCAS NOW (they may take forever) on how to document this. You don't want all those wrong grades averaged in.
