Hey guys, I have a few questions. I've searched the forums but I couldn't find this information on the web or on these forums, so please forgive me if I'm overlooking a really obvious thread with the answers I'm seeking!

1) Can anybody find official information on the grade forgiveness policy? I think I know how it works based on hearsay from these forums, but I'd like to read their policy just for confirmation (especially before I pay the thousands of dollars!) Every time I google it, I just get SDN forums! I guess SDNers are the authority on the issue!

2) I went to Rutgers University for my undergraduate studies, but there's a community college much closer to me where I can take re-take classes for equivalent credits. Is this looked down upon? Should I take the classes at Rutgers, regardless of the higher cost and farther commute? Or should I just take it at the community college?

3) Would it be better to retake 5 classes and boost my GPA up to a 3.6 sGPA/cGPA, or retake 4 and boost it to a 3.45, but have a lot more time to re-certify as an EMT and shadow (that one class is Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, it's not that it'd be too difficult, just very, very very, time-consuming!)

Thanks for all of your advice guys! I can't tell you guys how much help the SDN pre-DO community has given me.

i don't know where to find their policy, but it is well known. it isn't some secret. e-mail aacomas if you want it in writing. CCs are heavily debated however the problem I see is that if you retake at a CC, it is going to look like you can't handle the university. It is generally better to do the university. as far as taking the classes, i am not sure if 4 or 5 would be better so i am not going to answer that part.

I'd call, or write some of the main schools you want to apply to. I've heard on SDN from different people that they contacted the school their were interest and some prefer university while others don't care if it's from a CC.
Hum, while shadowing is important, I'm assuming you calculated your estimated GPA with either getting an A or a B+, if it just so happens that one does not turn out to be an A it would be better to have one more as a back-up. Not to mention a 3.6 is significantly better than 3.45
