Pass Fail vs Letter Grade Medical Schools?

I will be attending a medical school that is not pass fail. Although I do not mind being graded as I am fortunate to be admitted into medical school, I can't help but feel that P/F is much more convenient.

Does getting an A matter much more than a B since my curriculum is not P/F?
Why are many many medical schools not P/F?
