So I went to this school that was on trimester system and the credit hours for the basic science classes were off by one credit hour. For example I took Physics I and Physics II there. 3 Credit Hours each plus 1 credit hour for lab so a total of 7 credit hours when the average is 8 or more credit hours for college physics. I am retaking my basic sciences at a community college for 4 credit hours which will total 8 credits. Will they replace grades with classes that have more credit hours than your previous coursework?

As long as the new courses have greater than or equal to credits than the course its replacing, its fine. Search.

This really depends on how they are broken up per class.

So at your first school, you had a Physics 1 course that was 3 credits, a Physics 2 course that was 3 credits, and a Physics lab course that was 1 credit, right? Now at the CC, you have a Physics 1 course that includes a lab that is 4 credits and a Physics 2 course that includes a lab that is also 4 credits, right?

In this case you would be able to replace the 3 credit Physics 1 course with the 4 credit Physics 1 course, as the newer course has more credits, and you would be able to replace the 3 credit Physics 2 course with the 4 credit Physics 2 course, as the newer course has more credits. However, I do not believe you will be able to replace the 1 credit lab course, because there was no third course that you have taken that could replace that lab course, even though you really took an equivalent of 2 credits of lab. That's just how it is. You can try asking AACOMAS, but I don't think they'll budge on it.

Thats fine by me because in my Lab course I received an A so i wont complain about that lab just sitting out there lol. As long as I can replace the Physics grades thats all that matters to me. Also I took Biology a 5 credit hour course at another university but I am retaking at community college and its 4 credit hours its the exact same class will they replace that grade or no ?

That's always nice when the grade replacement rules work for you 🙂.

As for the bio course, it would not be replaced, because the most recent course has less credit hours than the previous one.

One more grade replacement question I Tried searching the forums I took Biochemistry last summer received an A and was wondering if they could replace it with my bad grade in Orgo 2. Has anyone ever attempted to do that?

no. you have to replace the same class for the same class.
