Hey Guys!
Question about DO grade replacement. I got a C in my Physics 2 class and and planning to take it again to hopefully pull an A. I am slightly concerned because the C that I got was in calculus-based physics and the class that I want to take to replace it is algebra-based. Since they are both Physics 2, will the algebra-based replace the physics-based? They would both be taken at the same university.

Pretty sure you can't do that. It has to be the same class. Sometimes AACOMAS makes allowances if the course title is different but the content is the same, but what you are talking about is a different course title and different content. That said, the only way to be 100% sure one way or another is to call AACOMAS.

I would email aacomas with both course descriptions.

The course material will be different. I doubt they will accept algebra-based as a replacement for calculus-based, especially since calculus-based is generally accepted as being more difficult.

I would concur with this ^

Usually calculus based physics is more difficult, and so it would be unfair to replace a Calc based class with an Algebra based one. At my institution we have separate course codes for each class anyway (Phys 111 and phys 131 - with 131 being Calc based)

Thank you all for your help!! I will plan on taking calc based physics during this coming semester.

Why did you take calc based, unless you are an engineer major? Trig based is all you need and it is an easier option for med school requirements.

Calc based is required for Biochem majors at my institution

I took it because the time worked better with my schedule but now I'm regretting it!
