Should I only retake the courses that are considered prerequisites for medical schools?

I ask bc back in 2002 I went to school and did terrible bc of lack of effort. I took classes that have nothing to do with med school reqs and dropped them or just never went to class and got F's. Not to make excuses for myself but I was a young teenager with no drive or vision.

I started going back to school last year and have maintained a 4.0 across the board but I know that previous gpa will also be considered. Do you think schools will notice my change in behavior and take into consideration my new trend?

I'm now taking chem 1 and will take bio 1, physics 1 and chem 2 next semester.

You can definitely do that. The only challenge might be some easy courses could kill your gpa if you got F's, so depending on your c/s gpa you may want to for DO with grade replacement retake F/D/C's until your gpa is competitive. >3.25, but preferably closer to 3.5.

Good Luck
