Is it the case that all or most schools require your prereqs to be on a graded basis? I'm finished with all but one - a grueling, hellish lab that I don't really have time for - and it'd be nice to take it pass/fail...

Firstly, if you consider a prerequisite lab to be "grueling" and "hellish," then I strongly suggest that you reevaluate your career choice. It's only going to get harder. If you can't handle a freshman chemistry or biology lab, how will you ever deal with gross anatomy? You clearly are unable to demonstrate the intellectual ability required to excel in a medical school.

Secondly, why would a medical school, with more applicants than they have space for, accept your grade of "P" when they can accept hundreds of other "A"s? You are clearly exhibiting that you are too lazy about your education to put in some real work. Like I said, reconsider your career plans.

Squat, you are an A$$. Anyway, most colleges still assign a letter grade when they submit grades and that letter grade must be kept by the professor. You can request from the professor that they send a letter stating your letter grade. Most medical schools accept that as a standard letter grade. And don't listen to squat, he obviously has some inferiority issues.
