Hi guys. Quick question. As it stands my science gpa is around a 3.0. This was because I had poor grades in Ochem and General chemistry originally and I ended up retaking and receiving A's at a community college after I graduated with a degree in economics. If you take into account grade replacement like they do in osteopathic schools, my science gpa rises to a 3.75 and overall around a 3.8. As it stands it is at a 3.0 and a 3.2. Well my question is this, do I have a shot with the 3.0 science gpa. Upward trend like crazy. Retakes in Ochem 1,2, General bio 2, and General chem 1 with all A's to replace c's from several years ago. Also what schools offer grade replacement like they do in osteopathic schools? Thanks guys

treadlightlyplease, did this get accidentally posted on the "pre-pharmacy" discussions?

I think he's just using osteopathic schools to ask a question about pharmacy? not sure tho 🙁
Anyway, 3.2 GPA is not perfect, but its still above 3.0, which is still good. If you get a nice PCAT (75+ percentile) and have pharmacy experience/extracurricular activities, you should definitely get accepted into some good schools 🙂

Thanks guys, and yes I meant it to be here. I just wanna see what my chances are with a 3.2 overall and a 3.0 science?

I think it depends on the pharmacy school too. Some will calculate the new grade into your pre-pharmcy GPA, but count the previous grade in your cumulative GPA. From what I was hearing, they care most about the pre-pharmacy GPA. But don't quote me. That's just the impression I got from meeting w/ schools. A good PCAT score would definitely help. Good Luck!
