Grading option change yes or no? My situation is that I have a 3.19 cGPA and sGPA and 32R MCATs. I KNOW, the GPA is low but I have a 3 year upward trend (solid 3.8, I had a lot of credits with lower grades before this trend).

I am planning a trip abroad this summer, so with that and applciations I am struggling.

So, I am bleeding points in my microbio class and its my last quarter.
I might get a B depending on the curve...would it be better for me to take a B or B+ or to change to a Pass/No Pass.

You might want to put this in the "What are my chances?" forum, since the question you're asking is fundamentally "What are my chances with a B compared to a Pass?"

That said: The "P" typically isn't calculated in your GPA, right? So in that respect I guess it wouldn't hurt you in a quantitative way.

But if I was the person looking at your transcripts, from a qualitative perspective I'd be suspicious of someone who elected to take a "Pass" instead of a grade. To me, that's like waving a flag and saying "Please don't grade me, I don't think I'd do very well!"

I kind of know what you mean. Though I think a withdrawl is really waving the flag.

I think a P more means I tried but didnt do as well as I wanted (or needed) but I didnt fail.

Do you have an advisor? My inclination would be to take the B or B+ if you're confident that you can pull it off. In my mind P suggests just barely passing and a B is still a solid grade.
