hey, i would really like to know if graduate courses taken as a non-degree, visiting student will be included as part of the post-bac gpa or as graduate gpa; I am not in a graduate degree program but am interested in taking some grad courses in my postbac (Biostatistics, etc) to raise my cum undergrad gpa.

your clarification would be appreciated1

• Assign Post Baccalaureate (PB) status to any undergraduate level coursework you enrolled in:
o After receipt of your initial BA/BS degree.
o While enrolled in a graduate program, if coursework is not applied to a graduate degree.
Assign Graduate (GR) status to any professional or graduate-level coursework that is not applied to an undergraduate degree.
• Do not assign Graduate (GR) status to any professional or graduate-level coursework applied to an undergraduate degree. Assign the appropriate undergraduate status (FR, SO, JR, SR) for courses of this type.

p38 of AMCAS instruction manual

However from posts from previous years they don't seem to be always consistent and I've read about students having to petition to have the classification corrected.

I have a graduate level genetics class I took in postbacc that was classified as undergraduate credits (PB) but I was also enrolled for a 2nd bachelors.

thank you for your response; what about for courses that are offerred through the continuing and professional studies department at my school; in particular, this course is under the science department in the school of continuing and professional studies (like an extension school). I looked closely and saw that the course was classified for undergraduate credit.

The AMCAS guide says this:

"Assign Graduate (GR) status to any professional or graduate-level coursework that is not applied to an undergraduate degree."

would the fact that this course is offered through the school of continuing and professional studies result in it being marked as a grad course even though the course specifically mentions that it is undergrad?
