Hey guys..

I will be finished from an Australian Dental in one year and I really want to do some post grad study in the UK. Just wondering where I can find information for that? I want to apply for either Oral Medicine or OMFS.

You will probably have to sit the IQE exams (three part series) once you get to the UK. Then you will have to find a Junior House Officer post somewhere on the Isles and then complete the MFDS in one of the Royal Colleges. Then you will have a shot at either OMFS or Oral Medicine. OMFS and Oral Med (and ortho) are all hospital posts and extremely competitive. BDJ will have some vacancies and you could write to one of the posts advertised to see where your deficiencies lie. Or, you could just do restorative, perio, prosth, endo with MSc (pay heaps of tuition) which doesn't give you a specialist qualification (just research) in the UK. This means that Australian state board may or may not grant you the specialist qualification and/or the RACDS view it differently. Check with your local state dental board to see what are registrable specialist qualification from the UK before you leave.

Hey.. thanks so much for your reply.. apprecaite it alot. Yeah I have my summer break soon and I will look into everything you said. Even though it all seems so hard but I would love to do oral medicine so much! I wonder if anyone here is also in a similar situation as me?!
