So, I am wanting to volunteer at grady atlanta, but Im not sure if I really want to now because of all the things i have heard from previous volunteers. If anyone ever volunteered at grady, how did it go? Was is scary or not so bad?

What type of volunteering is this? Pharmacy, or just other stuff?

God help you at that hospital it is a mess. Sorry I never volunteered there, but as a possible patient on a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 0! 👎

that hospital will be an eye opener, i volunteered at wellstar, not in the pharmacy though. You will probably just move old people from their rooms to their cars etc.

Grady Memorial Hospital is a safety-net hospital (or, at least it's supposed to be). That pretty much guarantees that it's going to be underfunded from all of the welfare and under-privileged patients that strike out from their payments (of which is supposed to be partly off-set by payments from the state). It's also going to be busy as hell.

I'm not sure how good of a learning environment it's going to be. It's had a pretty noble reputation from its history, but it's got financial troubles and as an extremely busy and underfunded hospital, I'm not sure how much learning time you'd get. I imagine they could use the help though?
