I just took the GRE today for the first time. V:470 Q:650 I did pretty good on the essay so I'm thinking a score of 8-10. My GPA is around 3.68 with 250+ hours of internship hours. I'm worried about my GRE score...I'm planning on applying to all the California mph schools (UCLA, loma linda etc..).

Should I take it again in September?

Your gre certainly isn't going to help, but your gpa is pretty high. take it again, if you can improve.

I would only take it again if you really plan to study between now and then. I took it twice, honestly kind of played at studying both times, and I did worse on verbal the second time (80pts!) and only did 10pts better on quant.

My gre wasn't much higher than yours and I'm going to Emory, if that helps. I didn't apply to any UC schools but I do know that they are very competitive- so make sure everything else on your app is as strong as possible.

I took the GRE and got a similar score as you, though my GPA was lower. I took the GRE again to see if I could do better, which I didn't. I applied to the practically all the Cal States (and UCI), and didn't get in anywhere because of my low GPA. But, I got into LLU & Tulane. Like they said, Cal schools are pretty competitive, but I think you should do fine with a high GPA.

And take it again if only you are REALLY going to put your heart into it. There's no point, otherwise. Good luckk

What was your undergrad GPA? I'm thinking of applying there (one of my reach schools) but need a better idea of accepted student stats. Thanks 🙂

If I remember correctly, my SOPHAS gpa was calculated at 3.7 (2 degrees one with 3.4 and one with 4.0).
