GRE score in the md-phd application cycle

My advisor recently told me a student of hers had to take the test last minute because a school requested it. The student wasn't applying for humanities or engineering grad programs.

Has this at all been the experience of anybody whose been through the cycle?

Most schools don't require it in my experience. Look up requirements at the schools you're most interested and plan on applying to, most of them have it listed on their website.
