I am a recent graduate of University of Kentucky. I have a overall GPA of 3.4. Here is a background of my grades and observation/volunteer hours. Course grades: Anatomy and Physiology I: C, Anatomy and Physiology II: A, Exercise Physiology: B, Biomechanics: B, Chemistry I: B. Chemistry I...
As of now I have been:
Waitlisted to one program
Waitlisted for interview at another
and the rest I haven't heard back from
So just in case I want to prepare for the next cycle. So please give me honest opinions on what I can do to improve my application.
I'm applying to 5 schools for masters programs in CMHC and all of them have an optional GRE. My undergraduate cumulative GPA is 3.48 and major (psychology) GPA is 3.73. I also have 2 years of experience in 2 undergraduate research labs and volunteer experience for Crisis Text Line and I have 2...
I am currently applying for my MPH through SOPHAS. I submitted my first application, and did not send official test scores. When I downloaded my application packet it had the unofficial scores listed that I plugged into the test score part on SOPHAS. This was before I realized I did not...
I’m going to apply to USC’s post-bacc program designed for career changers and one of their requirements is a standardized test score. I took the GRE and did not do well on it… I got a 152 in Verbal and 148 in quant. I’m considering taking it again (really don’t want to) but if it looks like I...
Just got my GRE results and got 150V 143Q and a 5.0 in the writing section.
Debating whether or not to retake the gre because of my quant score
I meet the exact minimum score for the quant section for the school I really want to go to (FGCU).
The other parts of my application are pretty...
Hi everyone! This is my first time posting.
I recently took the At Home GRE and my (unofficial) scores were not as high as I was hoping. A 293 overall :/ As far as writing goes, I think that section went okay. Many schools I'm looking at applying to no longer require the GRE or waived it due...
Hi everyone! I am finishing up my sophomore year of undergrad and I wanted to post here to see if anybody could give me any advice/let me know if I am on the right track!
Thank you in advance for all of your help!
Cum GPA: 3.71 (after 1st semester sophomore year, may drop to a 3.67 after this...
I got rejected this application cycle, and it was my first time applying to PT school. I am hoping some of you could help me with a few questions.
1. In November, I got rejected from a school, both early and regular decision. Is it too late now to reach out to the school and ask why they...
Hi everyone! I was hoping to gain some feedback regarding SMP programs. I browse enough threads on here and figured it was just time I posted my own.
I currently have a undergrad + post bacc cGPA of 3.1 as per the aamc scale. I am hoping to have a 3.14 by the end of the fall sem and a 3.18 at...
Hey guys, I wanted your advise on my chances of getting into PT school as my senior year is slowly approaching. I was looking into applying into the University of Colorado, Regis, Rocky Mountain, Puget Sound, and Eastern Washington.
Cum GPA: 3.9
GRE: Q: 152 V: 145 E: 4.0
Hours: 3 settings...
I hope this is allowed. After taking the GRE this past weekend and seeing numerous posts and discussions about the results, I went digging through ETS to find some true statistics. As it turns out, when you tell them your intended graduate degree, they use it to sort us and...
I am currently a senior with a 3.0 with a 3.1 in my major. I plan on applying to MSW programs and one counseling program but I'm a worried that my GPA will drop this semester. Not too low but i expect at least a 2.9. In the event it does, will I still have a chance at grad school? Most...
Hey everyone! I took the GRE on 9/20 for the first time (I waited til the last minute, I know) and just received my official scores: 162V, 154Q, 6W. I'm not super satisfied with my quant score, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to retake for schools with apps due 11/1 and later...
So I'm currently an undergraduate senior at a City University of New York preparing my graduate school portfolio for some PhD. Programs both instate and out fo state:

This is my first time posting on this forum, or any forum for that matter. I am posting today because I became very concerned about my chances of being accepted into PT school after receiving my GRE scores, particularly my analytical writing scores.
Verbal reasoning - 149...
So i took the GRE for the 2nd time today and my score did not improve. I feel discouraged because I studied so much and I got near the same score once again. I don't feel like I should take it for a 3rd time, seems excessive but should I worry? My scores a 287 with a 4 in writing...
Hey prospective and current OTs/OT students! I am brand new to SDN, but long time lurker, and I am so glad I found this forum! Everyone is so supportive and helpful of one another. Anyway, I am currently applying for this cycle (2018-2019) and I just want to post my stats/experiences to see how...
Hi everyone! I still have two years before I apply but I am already considering focusing on schools that don't require the GRE. I am horrible at math and I am afraid that if I can't score high enough, it will hinder my chances of admission. However, I understand that not taking the GRE greatly...
I'm taking the GRE this Thursday. I know ETS allows you to send 4 scores for free right after taking the GRE. Can I give ETS the OTCAS code for 3 schools I plan on applying to even though the rest of my application to that school isn't finished. I'm just confused on if the school...

Hi everyone, I’m having trouble getting a good score on the GRE, took it twice and still can’t get over the 300 combine score. I signed up for Magoosh but not sure how to approach the studying. Should I follow the 30 day plan exactly as outlined or should I do practice problem till I die of...
Hey everybody, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on schools to apply to. I was a previous engineering major and kind of overloaded myself on prereqs early on and screwed up my GPA a bit. I think my GRE and grade trend are something I can emphasize so I want to target schools that...

Hello! I am currently working on my first cycle application to 2 different programs and have some questions, would love some advice, just to feel like I'm submitting the best application that I can. Here is some info about me:
I'm a non-traditional student (a 32 year old mother of 2) who has...
Seeing that a lot of PT schools are admissions on a rolling basis, how early would you guys think early is? I'm planning on taking the GRE in mid-July, but I would like to maximize my time to study for the exam, so I'm considering pushing it to August.
What do you guys think?
So I have a list about 10 schools (which I plan on narrowing down more to apply to) but none of them require the GRE. I have taken practice GREs and I have no done stellar so I'm unsure if I should even take it because I would only send in my GRE scores if I did well
I just took my first practice test for the GRE and got a 140 and 142 :/
I have a big book to study and brush up and will take more practice ones before taking the real one in about 2 months, think I will be able to do much better to get those scores up to ideally 155-160 on each?
First time poster here. Graduated with a DDS in 2017 and am currently serving in the military with 4 years of commitment. During school I didn't feel like I got enough exposure to pursue any specific residency but now that I've been practicing for about a year I'm interested in Ortho. My GPA is...
I finally have my GRE scores and can make decisions about where to apply, but I have a significant disparity between my GPA and GRE scores. My cumulative GPA is a 3.5, my pre-req GPA is a 3.8 and last 60 GPA is about a 3.67. However, my GRE scores are a 162Q and 162V.
Are schools likely to...
My advisor recently told me a student of hers had to take the test last minute because a school requested it. The student wasn't applying for humanities or engineering grad programs.
Has this at all been the experience of anybody whose been through the cycle?
I've been browsing through the schools listed on the VMCAS descriptor page, and I see most schools ask for just the GRE. I assume this means the general test. Are there any schools out there that ask specifically for the GRE biology subject test?
