Chemical Principles: The Quest for Insight. 3rd ed. ; Atkins, Peter, and Loretta Jones

I just wanted to say if you want to learn Gen Chem from a more advanced level that also includes a fair amount of physics thrown in with it then the above text is a great text.

We used a chang text in my gen chem class and I am finding the above book much more useful for MCAT prep. Does anyone else have experience with this advanced Gen Chem text ?

I'm a freshman right now in accelerated chemistry and we are using that book. It has gone deeper into "gen chem" than anything I've done in AP chem. I think it's a good book, but you really need to dig to learn the material because it doesn't spell everything out for you. However, I like how it runs through all the "basics" and spends more times giving you the tools to do more advanced things, or understand the simple thigns better.

I rate it an A-.👍

if youre preparing for the MCAT I would suggest making sure you understand basic principles VERY well but skip going too in depth. if you can, def take a prep course. I took kaplan and the review materials are awesome. SPEND MORE TIME DOING PROBLEMS THAN READING BOOKS. seriously.
