I'm a junior in predental thinking about taking gross anatomy in the fall of my senior year. My advisor recommended that I take it because it will help in dental school. The only reason im not sure is because I know how hard the class is, and I'm very borderline with my grades (3.4 GPA, 3.1 sGPA)...so I dont want to take it and do bad and lower my GPAs any lower than they are....or does it look good when applying to dental schools that I took gross anatomy in undergrad?
Any feedback is appreciated

Suck it up and take the class. Knock it out of the park.

Indiana requires it if I remember correctly.

Gross anatomy from ugrad helped a lot when I took gross in dental school. Make sure the lab is cadaver based.

Enjoy.

lol thanks....not what i wanted to hear but it was what i expected to hear

Though gross will help you at school, i think purely from a getting in point of view your better off not taking it.

Fact of the matter is that GPA and DAT get you a look and then all the other variables come into play.

I'd probably take it after getting accepted if there's a time allowance to. Keep in mind that even if you think it may help when you're actually in school (no doubt about it Im sure it will definitely make life easier)...but if it hurts your GPA and you dont get in anyway and have to repeat the cycle then I personally dont see it as worth it. I see it as worry about getting IN first before worrying about having an easier time while in school. This is just my opinion as I worked hard in undergrad to protect my GPA throughout the four years.

yeh taking it after your accepted sounds like a good idea to me

I'm taking it now as a bio elective... it does take alot of time but its not impossible. Look at it as a chance to set your self apart by getting an A.
