has anyone tried or know anyone who attempted using the SECRETS:MCAT by Tom Paulson? It's $34.95, advertised on studentdoctor.net. I think the claims are so bogus and does not seems to carry much weight. It's basically a composite of tricks that we read from different study guides. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't spend the $35 on it. I have it but didn't have to pay for it. The stuff they fill the hundred something pages with is common sense or intuition that you should have anyways. Save your money

Use Examkrackers. It is worth every single penny you will spend. And I would know, I've looked at many many different prep company's materials....

USELESS MATERIAL -

he suggests something like "read only the first line of every paragraph" - yeah i did that and i had to come back to read the passages for the details. at least if i read the first time around it i would generally know where the information is but NOT if you just read the first line. do not waste your money on it

ps. i tried the tactis in that packet on one exam and my verbal score was in the 7-8 range. I went back to doing what i did usually and just worked on that and i was scoring in the 10-11 range.

i agree with the above poster in that examcrackers is worth every cent....especially for verbal. what worked for me was a combination of class notes (organic), ek (verbal), kaplan (physical sciences) and stuff i learned in class (bio--i'm a bio major so i've had lots of good classes).

i'd invest in ek and/or a big kaplan book if i were you.
