I just started taking college courses. Right now I just want to fullfill my requirements. I am not sure as to what is the best major in preparation for dental school. I heard from friends that it doesn't matter what the major is but still, there has to be the best major to prepare for dental school. Does anyone know from experience as to what is by far the best major to major in to be well prepare for dental school. Please help.....🙁

The best major is the one that you enjoy the most. If you choose something you like, it will be easy to study and get the grades you need for admission. I love biology and get far better grades than friends who I'm sure are smarter than I am; they just don't really care for biology. A biology major just seemed like the "logical" choice for them.

You might as well enjoy your 4 yrs. in undergrad. 😉

Supernumeracy is right, you should definitely take what most interests you. Although it is probably easier being a biology major because you'll have to take some of those courses anyway, it's probably best to major in what most interests you. some of my friends who are also predental and non-bio majors are majoring in human development, psychology, visual arts......just to name a few.

good luck, and hope this helps!

I agree with the others. You should major in anything you like the best. I think usually the predental and premed students are interested in biology courses more, so alot of them major in biology. However biochemical sciences, chemistry, microbiology, excercise physiology, nutritional scineces are also good pre-health majors.
I for myself, have seen math and sociology mojors who have got in to dental school too!
