According to the American Cancer Society (2004), the incidence and mortality rates have been declining in recent years.

About data, in the attached files, the SEER cancer statistics gives results prior to 2000 (no update there 🙁 ).However, it shows a slight drop...

Even if incidence of mortality is decreasing in recent years,it does'nt mean the rate of occurence is also decreasing.incidence of mortality is decreasing because of treatment modalities but otherwise rate is increasing.
this is what i have found out,plz do correct me in case i'm wrong.

According to the same society (American Cancer Society), talking about Oral cavity and oropharyngeal cancer , the number of new cases of this disease has been dropping during the past 20 years. In the past 2 years, the number has dropped by 5% a year.
