How do i get the one month free trial?
Hey bchandler. Is there any way that you could inform us of when the pricing will change in advance, so that maybe we can utilize the pricing plans for a little while longer? As a gesture towards SDN fans, is there any way you could show us some love? I'm going to be starting M1 in a month, and I plan to be using a month trial, after which, I was planning to sign up for a year. If you go monthly, I may have to to look at the pricing, and delay GT until later on in the year.
Wow, that sounds brutal to me cause I'm not an early morning person but I appreciate the dedication. How many questions are you reviewing a day and how many cards are you attempting to bank? I have a month before school starts for me and I'm trying to get the number of questions I have daily to a manageable level (100-150) by the time I start and bank M2 material as I see it through the year. I am really hoping not to commit more than 2 hours to GT during M2 because the class load is going to be a lot by itself.dmason, I had the same question for him! We started school this week too and Ive been trying to get up at 5:30 and get at least half of the days cards done. Talk about a rude awakening!
It's a shame that a product with a basis in advanced planning and consistent, long-term hard work doesn't reward the users willing to put in the cash for 12- or 24-month plans.

We can assume the current strict recall based question bank will still be there right?
Also, when will there be an Ipad/Iphone app?
Thanks for telling us that info
$40 a month? Getting rid of long term subscriptions? The whole point of GT is long-term repetition. I fear you are losing touch with your fanbase here.
Please Please Please make it so we can review and do all the cards within 1 subsection only. Right now there is an option to do all cards from say biochem but not subsections from biochem - like all cards of cellular metabolism only. This seems like something that could be implemented in an hour or less just by adding the subcategories to the "do all cards from xyz list". This would be a godsend for those of us upcoming MS2 so we can review for microbiology or just renal pathology etc... in addition to our daily cards. Thank you and great product!
GTP, now that you are back in school how many cards are you banking a day? Also, how much time are you committing to GT study time vs class study time? This may be premature if you just started this week but thought I'd ask.
@bluv1212, thanks to your and everyone else's great feedback, we decided to keep our pricing the same for a while longer (even when Firecracker is ready for prime-time and the Firecracker payment system replaces GT's payment system). To keep things simple, however, were going to remove the recurring subscription plan that cost $29/month as well as the 3-month plan option.
We thought a lot about what you guys said and changed our plans accordingly. We want to reward people who want to sign up for a year in advance and keep our prices down as long as possible. We will consider raising them after we integrate 1,000+ USMLE style questions. When we are full replacement for FA and UWorld we figure we can justify charging more to pay back our investors. 🙂
And, we always want to show you guys love! Our SDN Firecrackers are the bomb! To that end, I thought I'd tell you guys first that, someday in Aug. 7th, we're going to be posting a free month coupon on the Firecracker fan page. The catch is that the coupon will only be valid for a day or two so we recommend you like the page to make sure you see the code in your Facebook newsfeed. We thought this would help atone for our suggesting that we may be increasing our prices. 🙂
Truth is if we can get more than just all of you super smart and forward-thinking med students and IMGs to use Firecracker, we can more easily keep our prices down. So please tell your classmates that Firecracker isn't only for the super-hardcore med student! We can't wait until we get our 1,000+ USMLE style questions hooked up to all their relevant concepts. That way you guys will be able to review, say, 500 concepts with 50 questions as opposed to 500... and be able to practice applying your knowledge on USMLE- and Shelf-like questions at the same time! Kinda like killing 10 birds with 1 stone.
Bchandler, when will the shelf/step 1 style questions be put in place?
I'd like to chime in with a thanks for the Firecracker responses. Individual responses to our concerns along with real change in the pricing structure restores my faith in the company's direction and customer care. This was highly appreciated.
Hi @devils143, yes, the 13,000+ recall questions will still be there! Regarding an iPad/iPhone app - we're going to first make sure that Firecracker works really well on the iPad and iPhone Safari web browser and then look into a native app. Is the main reason why you want a native app so that you guys can do review questions without an internet connection? If you could tell me that 1 most important thing you want to do on the go, that would be really really helpful! Thanks!
You're welcome! Remember, we're always at chat at firecracker dot me as well if you want to reach out and chat with us. 🙂
GT says keyboard shortcut to goto next questions is the 'enter' key. Does that work for everybody.
I have to manually click next question. Enter doesnt seem to work.
Any suggestions?

Could you please explain how the transition will work for current GT members?
(And also... is that free month coupon valid for current subscribers?)![]()
Is the migration assistant on Firecracker working for anyone else? I want to import my GT account but seems like it's not working.
If we purchase the year-long GT subscription now, will we be grandfathered into a year-long subscription with Firecracker? Or will there be a fee to migrate all the data over?
Thanks,
~Kalyx
Yeah except now I lose all the free months I have built up. I've referred like 6 people so far who will be signing up
bchandler, quick questions...
1.) So I paid i think it was $250 when i bought GT in march for 15 months...when I transfer to FireCracker, I'm pretty sure I'll want to extend FC to another year to cover 3rd year so I was wondering how much this would basically cost and when I should sign up for the extension as a pre-existing GT member
2.) As far as transferring, can you guys please have the notes be transferred to as well and possibly have notes containing http:// references to be in blue hyperlink format so I can just click it? Theres just stuff I added and links I've referenced that I would love to keep
Hi @GTP - we got you covered here! We are planning on adding any unused months that you've earned to your membership and we will keep track of any new users who you've referred who join. So don't worry about that! And, of course as always, you can email us at chat at firecracker dot me or via the feedback link on the website.
Can someone PM me the coupon code for the free month? Thank you very much.
GT is absolutely draining. Devoting 2 hours a day to bank 1st year material plus review questions(another 1.5hours). And its only the 1st week😱
