Can someone tell me what the "Reschedule button does." I'm scared to push it. I guess I think I'll mess something up with my schedule. Thanks.
I think the GT team is mocking our grievances with the addition of their newest feature on FC: custom background themes. 5 different colors to choose from! Excellent choice of priorities.
FC Settings -> scroll to bottom for Themes
man, i've been studying for a block exam and haven't been keeping up with cards (+800-900 to do after tomorrow :<) and thought this was a joke, its not
how do we make it known we really want the % mastery back? 🙁
Do you guys feel that some of the new cards/questions are not as relevant to step 1? Or are you guys sucking it up and learning all of them. Like the Brain Abscess card... And I had a question regarding Vit D deficiency treatment with doses and maintenance therapy. They also kept the "Headache" card under Neuro Path, and added a whole new Headache section... with the same cards... and so we have double headache review questions... (I'm just ranting now...)
I already feel like there are so many more daily questions to do compared to when I was on GT. I don't want to deal with these low yield cards.
FC has to add the "Perfect Recall" feature very soon....
Maybe if everyone sends feedback through that little comment bar at the bottom?
BTW, does anyone know how - or if - we can still do questions in advance. Sometimes if I have a low load or have free time I do the next day's batch.
=/
Wait - so they ARE forcing migrations? I thought that was the whole point ... that the ones that have happened so far are optional and until all features are on FC they won't?
No one's forced to migrate. There will be another round of migrations before GT closes, but not until then, whenever that is. Therefore, it's likely that even if you migrated already and hate FC you could go back to GT and work on that until they shut down GT and migrate you again. The only "force" in this scenario is that you were made to choose whether you wanted to migrate now, or some time later in the future.
Sorry, I meant we are technically forced to migrate if we decided to migrate early (now). B/c if we get migrated now, and don't use FC until GT shuts down, our FC account will pile up questions. But you still can use GT.
For those of you who didn't click on migrating now, then I think you are OK until they do shut down GT (I think it said Feb...). Sorry for the confusion, I guess I speak on behalf of those who opted to get transferred now...which was a mistake.

I think you can go back to GT and use it until the second migration. At that point, you'd remigrate and there wouldn't be a backlog of FC data from the first migration. The way I understand it, each migration is a fresh copy of your review history etc over to FC, wiping out the currently stored FC review data.

I'm actually a little confused about this. I've migrated over to firecracker and haven't used GT since. I was pretty resistant to FC at first, but I'm more or less on board now. Meanwhile, my cards have piled up in GT. It just wouldn't make sense for the next round of migration to go back to whatever I had in GT, even if I banked a new card since the migration... Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean.
The second migration, much like the first, will be opt-in. If you migrated the first time and you're happy with FC, your GT subscription will just wither and die and you can forget it. If you did not migrate, when GT closes you'll be asked whether you want to move or not. If you don't move, you obviously stop using the program. If you move, you go to FC with everything in GT moved at that point. If you migrated the first time, but aren't happy, you could theoretically go back to GT for the time being and do a second migration, at which time it'll be as if you never migrated in the first place.
Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but when they migrated my GT to Firecracker, they did not migrate the membership time that I paid for. So essentially they brought over all the cards I banked through GT, but now I have no access to them in Firecracker and my daily reviews are just building. Plus, even if I wanted to keep banking cards on GT, none of those will carry over to Firecracker, which would just continue to waste my time. I know the firecracker/GT authors monitor this thread, so can someone do something about this!!
The fastest way to get in contact with FC staff is to email them. Yes, they read this thread from time to time, but this thread is by no means a customer service vehicle.
emailed FC complaining that they hadn't migrated me over yet and asking about perfect recall.
This is what Ben said:
...
I use perfect recall to get rid of stupid questions and to remove questions that I will never forget (like STEMI=transmural and NSTEMI is subendocardial), so if anyone uses this feature, let FC know so they can include it.
Unflagging a topic is NOT the same thing

Why do you click perfect recall? Is it because you don't like the question, because you are sure you will never forget the associated concept/answer? Or is it to reduce your review questions?"

You get 10 votes to spread around as you like. You should still have more votes in case you want to go back and use one more for perfect recall
Just migrated to Firecracker from GT (they sent me an email saying they were doing it - I opted in a month ago or so). On GT I was 80% banked with 49% mastered, so just over half of my banked questions mastered. In Firecracker, my "performance" bar shows 3/4 of my banked questions with scores of 4 or 5. Anyone else having this happen? Doesn't make sense, really. I'd like to think I am at a higher level of mastery haha, but I'm not sure how to explain it.
And how about being able to see how many questions a particular card has associated with it before we bank/flag it? That's a nice feature on GT. That way if I'm pressed for time I can avoid the 25 question cards and look at them another time...
BTW I'm unable to log in to FC as of now so I have no idea if they've added this feature yet...
Percent mastery in GT was calculated based on the total number of questions, not based on those you've banked. Therefore, it was only possible to reach something like 40% banked, 40% mastery or 80% banked, 80% mastery. In FC, the progress bar is showing you all of your flagged (banked) questions and their respective assignments. Therefore, it's possible to have something like 80% flagged, 99% (of those flagged) ranked 4 or 5.

Has this sudden appearance of 3000 questions when transferring from GT to FC happened to anybody else?
I had this problem for a while... turned out it was because I was using IE. When I opened it in Chrome, the colored bars were there. I let them know, but I got a response that basically said "Don't use IE, we don't support it" =P I actually don't really like IE that much either, but I do think companies should account that users are going to use a variety of browsers. My performance bar is blank! If I hover over it shows a number but there's nothing actually in the bar.
The breakdown is around 2,400 for "Study Plan" cards, 50 or so "Review Cards" and 700 or so "Catch-Up" cards. This makes no sense. I just logged back into GT and my daily quiz is 140 questions (lite mode).
