from jul 21 to aug 1. is this too late for texas schools? i just feel like i am not prepared enough, and i think 1 more week would highly benefit me. im worried so much now. will 1 week make a huge difference regarding early interviews?

It is impossible to know for sure. But if one week will give you that extra edge, I think it’s worth it. I just did the same thing. Will now be taking them on July 31, so I am in the same boat as you (except for the Texas schools).

Dont even think twice about taking early if you're not ready. That is less than 2 weeks time. Nothing will happen. AND it gives you that many more days to study.

The day you take the test, go to kinkos and fax a copy of the score report they give you at the test center to all the schools. You'll have to order the official copy anyway but if you did well, that'll get there attention.

In the end though...you take it early you will regret it if you do bad.

Good luck! I remember this last year and it was stressful times for sure! I took mine same time as you will and did not hold up my application at a single school.

The DAT is a long, stressful, and draining test that no one would want to take again if they didnt have to. Only you know how prepared you are and how confident you are. When you go to take the test you should be 110% confident and ready, even if that means reschedualing it and taking more time to prepare and study. If taking more time to prepare and study will get you a more competative solid score then do it and dont worry about rushing to get in the scores early.

I agree. A week or two doesn't make a lot of difference this early in the cycle but a bad DAT lingers forever!

I dont think it should matter. My DAT date is July 16th, but I think I'm going to reschedule as well. I'll know for sure next week.
