I know this is just going to confuse me more, but what do you guys think? I am totally stuck, and I am starting to get tired of people asking every day and not having even a clue as to what I am going to do.

My reasonings so far:

GW- great location in DC, cutting edge of technology, a lot of student activity/participation in the community (I know all the schools have this, but GW seems to go beyond the average), like how the school focuses more on the people they are accepting than just numbers, interesting track program to gear students into focused medicine

Einstein- Better ranked than GW (I know that rankings, esp research rankings, really dont matter, but it does to all the CA family that has never heard of AE), in New York (kind of), cheaper, has a good mix of students in the class, everyone I know loved it there. Although I was not impressed with their interview day, the post acceptance treatment is actually quite encouraging.

thanks

My sentiments exactly. The social scene in DC is amazing, not quite the case in the Bronx.

Actually, the Bronx has some pretty awesome aspects. One place to find out about this is www.aecommunity.com. But Manhattan is only a ten minute express bus ride away so to me it is not a big deal that the Bronx isn't the social center of NYC. This is in addition to the fact that I am there for med school and realistically won't have too much time for experiencing the city anyways. But with the time I do have I would rather be in NYC than DC any day, but again that is just me. I also agree that the post interview treatment has been surprisingly nice. I have received a hand written thank you letter from my interviewer, numerous letters about their ec programs (medical Spanish and international programs specifically), been put in contact with an orthopedic alum and a second year student from my undergrad area, been in contact with the research coordinator about projects, among other nice interactions. Also, you cannot beat the housing price with a stick. A studio apartment for $425/mo. Come on... but those are just a few of the apects that drew me to deciding on AECOM. Hope that helps.

Hey, I just interviewed at both places this cycle. To compare, I'd say the first two years won't be too different... I agree GW's interview day was impressive with their Sym man, brand new hospital and all that, but in reality, you use Sym man like 4 times your whole first year or something. I thought students at both places were happy. The immediate location is definitely nicer at GW (although NYC is NYC). However, talking with people there, if you want to live in that nice area, then its mad expensive. Couple that with private tuition and DC's ridiculously high standard of living and its going to be more pricey than Einstein. I also feel Einstein might have a slightly better reputation. And I'm impressed with what I've heard about their clinical exposure (although I'm sure GW offers great stuff too). So I guess it comes down to where you'll be more comfortable.

Thanks for the feedback
