How has interview release day been for everybody? I've heard that many positions will likely go unmatched this cycle for the first time. Many candidates that would have done onc before seem to be going into MIGS instead, or maybe even urogyn (they had a very competitive year, apparently 2:1 applicants). Onc also probably falling out of favor due to lifestyle.

GYN ONC is being hit that bad?

It used to be a tough fellowships to match.

I'm surprised MIGS is even getting any play since it's not ACGME approved anyways. Anyone can get the MIGS focus certificate.

Yeah they made it a lot easier to open up programs, all you need are three attendings basically. I suspect declining applicant numbers will be a continued trend and a lot of these programs wont be able to find anyone to fill them
