Hail Mary - any PS readers left out there?

I've had a few of my editors take a look, however, they don't really have any experience with medicine. I don't really need any grammar, small edits, I just want to make sure my PS answers the "Why medicine?" question. I've been staring at it so long that I can't really make sense of what someone who is seeing it for the first time would think.
