It depends on your hair length/style/wave/curve/whatever.

I agree with the above post for medium hair. I do that now when I have time, or I dry it straightish, or I use curl scrunching gel and dry my hair.

I had super long hair when I shadowed as a pre-med and preclinical, so I'd dry it straight then pull it back in a low pony tail.

As an M3/M4, I'd go to sleep with wet hair, it'd be a mess, so I'd pull it back in a bun.

Keep it clean. Brush it in the morning. Probably avoid wild colors. Beyond that no one will really care.

I don't look totally conservative and the doc I shadow seems fine with that. I have a lip ring and I catch flak from patients about it sometimes, I just smile and play along. They always think they are very clever when they pretend it's a giant zit they need to inform me about.

Bald. Go bald. What was that movie with that really attractive bald girl, I was going to rent it tonight, but I can't remember the name of it.

Yeah, shave it all off. Then you could wear all sorts of wigs.

If you're going to be in a whitecoat or going to clinic, just brush it and wear it loose or tie it in a ponytail.

If you're going to be scrubs, tie it in a bun because when you go into the ICU in scrubs, you may have to wear something that resembles a shower cap. Your hair will come out as a mess regardless.

Thinking about V for Vendetta?

How about a Kentucky Waterfall?

But seriously, your looking too much into it - it's just your hairstyle. As a doctor you may have to make more difficult decisions.
