I am curious - if i were an Onc Surg, would i be able to still go help out with general surgeries in places like Haiti when disasters hit?

Thanks,

If you were an Onc Surg? I think they call themselves Surgical Oncologists.

Yes, you would probably be useful in a team as your General surgery training should have given you plenty of training in trauma and amputations. The fact is, the biggest thing that they need right now (besides public health stuff) is OR staff, anesthesiologists, and surgeons who can competently do amputations for all of the mangled extremities before sepsis sets in.
