I am a third year dental student and am in need of some advice. I had an ulnar collateral ligament tear in my right thumb a few years ago and had it repaired. Anyway, I have recently started having severe pain (to much perio). I finally saw a hand surgeon and he said that I most likely would need to have the metacarpophalangeal joint fused. I was wondering if any of you have had anything similar, have any recommendations for surgeons in Southern California, or know of any way to cover myself for disibility insurance.
