Hi guys, I used the search function and couldn't find too much about this so I'm assuming this issue hasn't been encountered often so I need some advice here! One of my Professors is a very old-fashioned lady, and prefers that she write a hand written letter of rec for me. Is this even allowed? Or can she just scan the hand written copy and upload it to interfoilio for them to send it to various med schools?

Thanks!

And I thought my letter writer's decision to send her letter in the mail was old fashion... If she's so old fashioned that she prefers to handwrite, you're sure she'll be willing to scan it to have it sent? Perhaps she prefers to send it via raven on a scroll sealed with hot wax? In all seriousness though, as long as her writing is legible, a handwritten letter should be fine.

About the scanning part... I'm pretty sure I'll have to teach her to do that while simultaneously keeping my eyes closed so I don't accidentally look at the letter she wrote me!

Seriously though, she's gonna have to 100% scan it and upload it to interfoilio then?

She can send it in the mail! As long as you give her the corresponding sheet from interfolio and she signs the outside of the envelope on the seal. I had 4 of my 6 letters sent to Interfolio via mail and had no issues at all.

Edit: Just a tip: If you send the letter in the mail via priority mail, it'll be scanned the day it's received by interfolio. May be worth the $20-25 if you need to get this done ASAP.
