Hi

I just bought a brand new chuck type hand piece made by NSK for schien corporation, Its cheap at the price no need to rent for the exam, Ive been invited to UOP and didnt want to rent or borrow one I bought mine for 139 $ .

the next level is 159 $ its a Lares handpiece chuck type. I just thought this might help people who were looking for handpieces to buy.

Call 800-372-4346, Henry schien corporation. International divison, tell them you are a foriegn trained dentist and need to buy a handpiece..try asking for a little off the price. I bought a 4 hole chuck type...3 months warranty.

call pearson on the phone and tell them that u are a student so you don't have an account number.U have to order by phone , not on the web.

And what type of handpiece do we need. high speed or slow speed.

That depends on what u need the handpiece for. if u need it for teeth preparation (on natural teeth or typodont), u need a high speed. if u r preparing for the bench exam u might also need the slow speed for equilibration and some other minor uses. i would suggest u buy both. get a good high speed handpiece and u can buy any low end slow handpiece. u can also get the slow speed from ebay.
