Does anyone in this forum know about the Externships provided by the IMG PREP--A POST GRADUATE MEDICAL RESIDENCY CONSULTATION based in Washington,DC.
Has anyone had any experience with them?
Please answer this question.
This thread will be helpful to so many IMG's from all across the world.
Their Enrollment fees for Externships and other minor services are said to be 5350 US$ plus 1500 US$ for Medical Malpractice.

Please shed some light on this Consultation company.

That is a lot of money.U would be better off calling the programs and e-mailing the Hospitals and Programmes yourself.

For example even harvard for around 3000(1/12 of tuition u can do an Elective) if you are a medical Student. Yale and so many programmes have this for medical Students.

If u have graduated again there are some Programmes out there like Washington Surgery Department, Columbia Observership. I know these examples becos I remember seing it at their sites. at jackson Miami there is an Observership programme. Sometimes they allow u to touch a patient. I think the only relevant issue here is you trying to get a LOR. U can have hands on but another students does simple observership and gets terrific LORs and he is still ahead of u.

I think this programme can be good in the sense of facilitating Lifes but the figure quoted are Preposterous. Practice Insurance of 1500 is also overcharged

The probem is whom to believe and whom not to.
There are so many other agencies also claiming to provide externships to the Img's,but who knows whether these agencies really provide this or do the IMG's lose their money.

At least IMGPrep website is up, FMGAmerica and FMGPortal are not working any more..
