Don't give up! You have a waitlist in your hand. But if it doesn't go the way you expect, you may consider applying to several DO schools right now and receive interviews.
Send in letters of interest or intent to the schools you've interviewed at.
Thanks! I will definitely plan to send those letters. From an experience standpoint is there anything I can do to improve on that Is missing?
Also, isn't it too late to apply to DO?
I'm going to tag @Faha and @Goro about applying now for DO for this cycle. I think it’s late but I really don’t know.
Also, we really don’t know much about your application cycle. Where did you apply, when we’re you complete etc., we’re your interviews at IS schools, private schools etc.. You could use some more nonclinical volunteering. ADCOMS will expect significant improvement when (If)you reapply.
A similar score will NOT be viewed negatively if the reason for the retake is because the previous score expired.Noted. I will plan to increase my non clinical volunteer hours. Also regarding my MCAT, if I maintain a similar overall score, how will this be perceived by an ADCOM? (I know similar scores can be perceived negatively).
Regarding my application:
- Submitted 17 secondaries by the end of July/first week of August. The other 10 were completed by the beginning of September.
- Interviews were IS and OOS. Both public schools.
